Because these features are not necessarily available through traditional land line services, organizations are looking to implement unified communications systems that support video conferencing, voice and other multi-media solutions.

No Jitter noted that cloud-enabled unified communications services require SIP trunks, giving service providers the ability to stay competitive during the transition period, which should cover the next several years.

A separate eWeek report highlighted how the variety of endpoints and tools used in today’s business world is forcing decision-makers to simplify the way individuals access those resources. In many cases, this consolidation is done by implementing unified communications, which, in turn, require SIP trunking services.
