The communication landscape in the business world is continually moving forward, driven by innovation in phone systems and the evolution of IP and cloud-based networks. The “death of the land line” is one of the most commonly discussed topics in the private sector today, largely due to the proliferation of mobile devices and remote working capabilities. Just because the land line may be going under, however, doesn’t mean the desk phone is on its way out too.
The desk phone is a somewhat ambiguous term, especially since it has evolved during the last several years. In the past, the desk phone was the legacy land line device. This is not the case anymore, especially with the advent of VoIP services, which have provided companies of all sizes a more cost-effective and high-quality offering.
